Horrible customer service.

Don't buy from them. They used my gift card and charged my credit card. 4 calls and a lot of time wasted and they still have not credited my account. I have a balance left on the gift card but I cannot go through all that again. They can keep it!

Embarrassing

Embarrassing. Customer service is garbage. Wine delivered broken. Refused delivery. Had to dispute the charge, garbage.

What the hell

What the hell, I had 2 $400 transactions from this company and I've never seen it in my life. Bank is investigating it which takes about 120 days. How has someone faked an entire company?

Wine always days late and in the hot…

Wine always days late and in the hot Fedex trucks. If you complain they dont care. You have to sit at home and wait because of having to sign (21 age) and then it does not show up. Waste of time. Drive to the local liquor store.

I really, REALLY tried to give them a chance.

They had the wine I was looking for at a reasonable price (not cheapest, but I'm willing to spend a bit more to not have to go to the store!). I had a friend who provided a code, which never came through to my email.
Contacted customer service, and first customer service rep seemed really helpful and after several back and forths gave me a replacement code. I spent the next hour happily picking out my wine. Put in the code and it wasn't accepted. Two more reps came into the "chat" and immediately left. Finally, someone else came in and wanted me to give the referral person's email so they could "check what was wrong on their end." That just didn't sit well with my, so chose to step out at that point. Gave them almost two hours of my time in an attempt to save myself and a friend $30. They actually sent a follow-up indicating that before I could even receive a code, we BOTH had to purchase a minimum amount? So you get my credit card and the other person doesn't purchase the amount and you charge my card at the full amount? And then what am I supposed to do? Ask my friend about why they didn't purchase (which was never set forth in the requirements anyway?). Very shady. I'm going somewhere else.

It will get here someday, maybe

I have been waiting for a week; all items were in stock when I ordered. I am switching to Total Wine.

Terrible customer service

I received a gift card from my nephew for wine.com. First, it's not easy to add the card to your account. After talking to their rep I was finally able to do this and ordered 2 wines. Two weeks later I received a message (from rep Eric Brown) that one bottle was not available and they were going to ship just one. I immediately responded and asked them to add another one of similar value to save on shipping charges of the second bottle. There was no response and a day later I received a message that only one bottle was shipped. Later I found that they used only a small portion of my gift card and instead charged my credit card. I did not want to deal with them any longer and asked for a cash refund of my gift card, which they refused.

Wine.com fraudulently billed me and have not returned my money BEWARE

They still are fraudulently holding a couple hundred dollars that belong to me and should NEVER have been charged.
I was a fan of wine.com and well on the way to becoming a loyal customer. Until this unacceptable situation occurred. My goodness I hope this an outlier or this company could be broadly non-compliant in terms of federal regulatory oversight. I Placed a fairly significant size order and received an email that some products were not available and that my total payable would be adjusted accordingly. Understood, happens. But guess what they fully charged me regardless to the tune of a couple hundred dollars I should NEVER have been charged. So not only did they fail to action their own notification, they held on to the funds and were persona-non-grata when I tried to contact them and rightfully get my money back. This industry is regulated to prevent fraud, and while this could be an outlier or error born of internal process failure, the regulations are in place to protect consumers from poor process and bad actors who may seek to misrepresent their products and services. With no resolution and no contact after multiple attempts to connect on this issue I feel there’s no alternative than to report these non-compliance’s as potential fraud. What a shame. I would have been a great “shout from the roof tops” customer.

I didn't have any problems with them

To be fair, I've only used them once, to send a gift of champagne to someone. I shopped around and their prices were not inflated, and they delivered the right item when they said they would. Yes, a signature was required, but peeps: a signature is ALWAYS required when you order alcohol through the mail. Chances are your FEDEX or UPS delivery person just doesn't care and leaves your stuff on your porch anyway, but you can't expect that everywhere. Anyway, the one time I used these guys, they were fine. Maybe I just got lucky, based on all the negative reviews...

Q:

I am looking for a bottle of 2016 Banyuls - M. Chapoutier - Red Dessert wine?

Answer This Question

Q:

What made you choose Wine.com over similar businesses?

A:

They had a wine I could not find anywhere in Los Angeles where I live

by Christina832 - September 11, 2020

A:

It seemed cheaper bc I didn't have to pay for a subscription. But just remember things that seem too good to be true usually are. They double charged me, and customer service was terrible. Beware beware beware

Answer This Question

Q:

How easy is it to get a hold of customer service at Wine.com?

A:

Awful. No one responds to emails. When you attempt to chat, you are on hold forever. Once I was finally connected, the chat person left the chat right in the middle before my issue was resolved.

by Leona - February 09, 2021

A:

By phone, not hard. By email, doesn't seem possible!

by Amber B. - October 30, 2020

A:

Impossible to reach them as I have been trying for the last month. They don't answer any emails, phone calls, or "chat". It's like they have gone out of business.
